Exit out of the back sliding doors and walk the grass to the right, you'll find a stairway that is a convenient shortcut to street level right in town. Enjoy strolling Butler Street and hitting all the restaurants and shops this quaint town has to offer. From Saugatuck's famous art galleries to locally roasted coffee, jam and jelly shops. There is no shortage of fabulous places to ignite the senses. Saugatuck allows open container in the "social district" off Butler and Water Streets. Enjoy a beverage from one of the local watering holes and feel free to bring it with you as you walk the riverfront.
- There is a plethora of wooded foot and bike trails that lead to the beach, where you can find gorgeous sunsets. Bring your own bikes or rent one nearby for easy access into town or just a 20 minute bike ride to the Saugatuck Dunes State Park. While there, you can hike straight through to the most beautiful sandy beaches. Take on the climb of the infamous Mount Baldhead and head down the other side on a dune that takes you straight to Oval Beach. The list of activities goes on and on!

The Bird's Nest is within a 5 minute walk to the heart of charming Downtown Saugatuck! The historic Saugatuck Chain Ferry, takes you across the Kalamazoo River and drops you at the foot of some wonderful hiking trails and Mt. Baldy, is about a 15 minute walk. Fares are $2/person each way.
The Interurban is a on call public transportation service that services Saugatuck/Douglas/Fennville. Simply call the number and request a pickup and drop off location. $1 fares each way!

Please note the living room fireplace is decorative only, though feel free to enjoy the electric fireplace in the master bedroom.
